Portland’s Pure Bathing Culture just dropped this spritely, swelling lead single / opening track from their upcoming debut LP, Moon Tides. The hopeful “Pendulum” has a sense of yearning and as Sarah Versprille‘s (formerly of Vetiver) charming voice sways and builds as the song comes into its climactic chorus. Moon Tides is out on August 19 in the UK via Memphis Industries / August 20 in the US on Partisan Records. Stream the fantastic “Pendulum” below:

Something to be said about a producer who can bring drum-less song to poignant climax without an obnoxiously over the top drop. This is exactly what happens here on “Last Remnants”, a new track taken from Koreless‘ Yugen EP, which is out today via Young Turks. Take a listen below:

We’ve waited for this confirmation so long, we almost forgot it was happening. After Dark 2 is finally/officially out this upcoming Friday via Italians Do It Better. The wait will seemingly pay off as the compilation is 78+ minutes long and sure to be chalk full of some serious jams. Till Friday, we have “Let’s Kiss”, a fantastic, lengthy vocoder tune from label artist Mirage to tide us over. Stream “Let’s Kiss” below:
**UPDATE: The compilation is now available for download on iTunes.
Louisiana native Juliana Barwick has just announced details of her forthcoming album, Nepenthe. The record will be released August 20 via Dead Oceans. You can hear the gorgeous new ambient track “Forever”, which features a choir of young women, in the album trailer below. The album will follow up a slew of notable releases from Barwick including 2011’s overlooked LP The Magic Place, her collaborative project with Helado Negro in Ombre and her excellent single “Pacing”, released earlier this year on Suicide Squeeze. Needless to say, we’re excited for this new album from Ms. Barwick.

Up and coming LA pop-songstress Banks just released her subtly charming and probably best track yet in the soothing “Warm Water”. The song most certainly qualifies as a romantic, summer evening love jam in which her soulful, submerged vocals receive a complementary accompaniment from UK producer Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs. “Warm Water” is out May 27 via London’s Good Years. Stream it below:

The oh so prolific Canadian producer Ryan Hemsworth dropped a new track today called “Perfectly”. A little more up beat than some of his more recent work, “Perfectly” seems to be a seasonally appropriate release with its warm, sunny vibes. This track is part of his Still Awake EP which he’ll self-release next week. Listen to “Perfectly” below:

Kendrick has had a busy Tuesday. Here is the director’s cut for “Bitch Don’t Kill My Vibe” which features Mike Epps being Mike Epps, somber-then-partying funeral goers, and a terrific surprise by fellow TDE mate, Schoolboy Q. In case you were uncertain, the track Q rhymes over is “Cherry” by Chromatics. Its real damn good.
Solange teamed up with Kendrick Lamar for a rework of her True track, “Looks Good With Trouble”. The track is available on iTunes, but you can stream it below. Make sure you stay til the end, as Kendrick adds the finishing touches to the already soothing, slow jam.
